Pelotes Island Nature Preserve

The Pelotes Island Nature Preserve currently provides free educational Outreach Programs for 1^st-5^th grade students.  These 75-minute programs include interactive discussion and hands-on learning – right in your own schoolyard!  Programs include:

Animal Adaptations (1^st-5^th) – Hands-on Exploration of Animal Furs and Bones

Timucua Indians (1^st-5^th) – Try Native Games and Skills

Plants & People (2^nd-3^rd) – Experience an Edible Lab Practical

Bizarre Bugs (3^rd-5^th) – Go on a Bug Scavenger Hunt

Solar Science (4^th-5^th) – Cook Solar S’mores

We can also provide free 75-minute teacher workshops at your school on early release Wednesdays.
